Ubluriak Society is a nonprofit organization based in Sanikiluaq, Nunavut dedicated to serving communities in the Baffin Region and beyond. Our mission revolves around nurturing the well-being and empowerment of youth through proactive leadership and positive initiatives. We offer an array of community development services, activities, and educational resources aimed at guiding youth towards their aspirations. Our goal is to support them regardless of their chosen paths, ensuring they have the tools they need to succeed.
We are committed to providing a diverse range of community-centered services and programs tailored to the needs of Sanikiluaq residents. We embrace individuals of all ages, from children to elders, recognizing that knowledge knows no bounds. Collaboration is at the heart of our approach, as we work closely with Federal, Territorial, and Municipal governments to develop, adapt, and implement programs that address local needs.
Recognizing the lack of access to sports and recreational activities for youth in the Hamlet of Sanikiluaq, Ubluriak Society has initiated sports and recreation programs. These programs are designed to foster inclusivity and a sense of belonging among Sanikiluaq’s youth, both boys and girls. Through this initiative, we aim to positively contribute to the holistic development and growth of young individuals in our community.

Our Inspiration
Ubluriak Society draws its inspiration from the pressing needs within the Sanikiluaq community, recognizing the necessity for support and services. Our primary objective is to empower youth and individuals, providing them with the resources and assistance necessary to uncover and cultivate their inherent potentials. Through our initiatives, we strive to create an environment where individuals feel encouraged and supported in their journey towards personal and collective growth.

As a teenager, it can be easy to feel lost or disconnected, but the Ubluriak Society has provided a welcoming space where I can explore my interests and connect with peers who share my values. Their land-based education programs have taught me so much about my Inuit heritage and how to live sustainably off the land.
